Palacio Real y Plaza de Oriente
With an area of 135,000 m2 and 3418 rooms, it is the largest Royal Palace in Western Europe, and one of the largest in the world. It houses a valuable historical-artistic heritage, highlighting the set of musical instruments known as the Stradivarius Palatinos, and very relevant collections of other subjects such as painting, sculpture and upholstery. State rooms and artistic collections are open for visits as long as there are no official events.
    <div><strong>Teatro Real</strong></div>
    Teatro Real
The Teatro Real is the opera theatre in Madrid. It is located in the Plaza de Oriente, opposite the Royal Palace. Its construction began in 1818, and was inaugurated in 1850. It remained uninterrupted as an opera house until 1925, when it had to close due to structural problems in the building. It did not reopen until 1966, as a conphonic concert hall. Between 1988 and 1997, it underwent a major refurbishment that made it an opera coliseum again.
    <div><strong>Plaza Mayor</strong></div>
    Plaza Mayor
The Plaza Mayor is an important tourist spot, visited by thousands of tourists every year. Under the arches, there are plenty of hospitality venues, with terraces next to the arches of the square. It is also a widely used space for festivals, such as the festivities of San Isidro. Every December, the traditional Christmas market is celebrated, a custom that has been in force since 1860. The philately and numismatics market is also on show every Sunday and public holidays during the mornings.
    <div><strong>Barrio de la Latina</strong></div>
    Barrio de la Latina
La Latina is a lively neighbourhood set on the grounds of a medieval Islamic fortress, a maze of narrow streets with numerous tapas bars and taverns. The Royal Basilica of San Francisco el Grande, with works by Goya, and the church of San Pedro el Viejo, which has a Mudejar tower, are two of the landmarks of the neighborhood. On Sundays, both the El Rastro flea market, cafes and street food stalls in the area are filled with visitors.
    <div><strong>La Puerta del Sol</strong></div>
    La Puerta del Sol
Puerta del Sol is one of the most famous squares in Madrid and the meeting point of locals and tourists. It houses some of the most significant points and buildings in the capital, such as kilometer zero.
    <div><strong>Barrio de las Letras</strong></div>
    Barrio de las Letras
A main artery of the Barrio de Las Letras, Huertas street has engraved in its cobblestones some of the most famous verses of literature of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, in honor of illustrious neighbors such as Miguel de Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Francisco de Quevedo or Luis de Góngora. That spirit of playful neighborhood in which taverns and inns abounded is still alive today.
    <div><strong>Mercado de San Miguel</strong></div>
    Mercado de San Miguel
It has been more than 100 years since the San Miguel Market was opened as a stock market. Today, this historic building is one of the main gastronomic markets in the world, as it allows its visitors to take a tour of the essence and flavors of each of the corners of Spain.
    <div><strong>Gran Vía</strong></div>
    Gran Vía
Founded between 1910 and 1929, Gran Via is Madrid's most famous boulevard. It connects the Salamanca district and the Argoelles district and brings together shops, restaurants and some of the most iconic buildings in the capital.
    <div><strong>El Templo de Debod</strong></div>
    El Templo de Debod
The Temple of Debod is an Egyptian temple from the 2nd century AD, currently located in the Spanish city of Madrid. It is located west of the Spanish Steps, next to the Pintor Rosales promenade.
